How to Choose a 1688 Sourcing Agent: A Verifiable Checklist
Short answer: the best 1688 sourcing agent is not the one with the lowest advertised percentage. Choose the provider that lets you verify the original 1688 listing, separates product value from supplier domestic freight and service charges, defines its QC evidence, explains supplier returns honestly, and can show what happens after the goods arrive in China.
Start with one identical test order
Send each candidate the same product URL, variant, quantity, destination, QC request and packing instruction. Ask for the quote in the same structure. This prevents a low headline fee from hiding a different product, lower specification or incomplete freight scope.
A useful comparison should show:
- the original 1688 product link;
- the selected variant and quantity;
- the supplier's product amount;
- supplier-to-warehouse domestic freight;

Check what “quality inspection” actually means
At ZQ, the free receiving check is a quick visible confirmation of the ordered item or variant, color, size label and obvious external damage. It has no photos, internal inspection or functional test. It is designed for receiving speed, not detailed product assessment.
Paid QC is selected and charged per SKU on the purchase order:

For an unfamiliar supplier or a high-value product, detailed QC is strongly recommended. For a proven supplier and a low-value, stable SKU, it may not be necessary on every repeat order.
Do not accept a made-up universal return promise
The purchasing-stage return rule comes from the source marketplace and supplier. For 1688 purchases, the key window is often about seven days after receipt, but eligibility and return-freight responsibility depend on the listing and supplier decision. An order that has not been dispatched can usually be cancelled without return freight. After dispatch, domestic return freight may be deducted when the supplier will not cover it. Opened, repacked or late returns are harder to approve.
This purchasing-stage process is different from the separate 30-day after-sales request window for ZQ-fulfilled international orders. A credible agent should explain which stage a policy applies to instead of presenting one number as a universal warranty.
Match the agent to the fulfillment model
Choose based on what happens after purchasing:
- Dropshipping: individual orders are purchased, received, prepared and sent to end customers.
- Bulk Ship: goods from one or more suppliers are received, consolidated and shipped together to your warehouse, Amazon FBA or another 3PL destination.
- Branded or customized products: confirm industrial design, mould development, production, QC and branded packaging scope separately; these are project services, not automatic features of a basic purchasing fee.

Before moving a full catalog, run one real order and score the provider on evidence:
- Was the original product and selected variant visible?

- Was domestic freight separated?
- Was the commission calculated as stated?
- Did the warehouse match the inbound parcel correctly?
- Were paid QC photos delivered in the promised location?
- Was an exception paused and communicated before the next step?
- Did the final shipping quote use actual packed weight and dimensions?
If the provider cannot make one small order auditable, moving more SKUs will magnify the problem.

Do I need my own 1688 or Alipay account to use ZQ?
